The album titled ‘Memoirs of a Maniac’ tells the story of his experiences, and an ongoing battle with racism

Washington D.C, USA – Jun 3, 2020 – Imagine being American-African in the United States at the moment. Now imagine you are a sensational rapper with a budding album, but, you are caught up in the struggle against poverty, crime, violence, and worst of all, racism. It doesn’t paint the best picture now, eh?

This is the story of Papa Brain.

Born and raised in Ward 7 of Washington D.C, Papa Brain – whose real name is Brian Lee – has been making rap music and beats since he was 15 years old. He has gradually made a name for himself in the music scene, regardless of the challenges and difficulties he has had to face including fathering a young daughter who was born with autism.

As an African-American, Papa Brain has experienced a lot of racism, has lived in poverty, been involved in crime and violence, and suffers from PTSD because of being exposed to all the violence and poverty in Washington D.C.’s ghettos. Just like nearly every African-American living in those conditions, Papa Brain is fed up.

His ‘Memoirs of a Maniac’ album talks about his struggles and experiences, and how he has been able to make it to this point. Tracks on the album include songs like ‘Save the World’ that encourages listeners to stay strong no matter the challenge. Papa Brain is hoping that the possible revolution happening due to the recent events in the country comes to fruition and brings lasting change. He hopes to be a voice of that change.

Papa Brain has been active in the music industry since the year, 2012. He has also founded Spinn.city, a website where artists can upload their music to get featured. Spinn.city will be officially launched on the 8th of June, 2020.
